WE RAISED $3,020 for DIAL/SELF TEEN SERVICES!

February 26, 2008

Dear Friends!

Two weeks ago, the intrepid DIAL/SELF Polar Plunge Team jumped into the Atlantic Ocean outside of Boston.  I am pleased to introduce the following brave individuals who were both willing to run into the Boston Harbor in February, and who were also very successful in helping us exceed our pledge goal of $3,000! Go, Team!  Congratulations and many thanks to the following:

Susan Del Monte  ◦  Katie Dieber  ◦  Meredith Doster  ◦  Michael Drexler  ◦

Jesse Edgerton  ◦  David Flynn  ◦  Rachel Gordon  ◦  Joe Kopera  ◦

Chuck Malloch  ◦  Katie Montgomery  ◦  Kirsten Scott

The DIAL/SELF acronym lends itself well to our polar plunge motto:

Direct Immersion in Arctic Liquid—See Each Limb Freeze

The members of Team DIAL/SELF did indeed let their ‘limbs freeze’ to ensure that youth and young adults in Franklin County and the North Quabbin region can ‘flourish’.  DIAL/SELF Teen Services continues to provide vital services to youth in need.  It is a privilege to work with the youth that we serve here at DIAL/SELF and I am very grateful for your generous participation in this fundraising event.  With your help, we reached and exceeded our goal of $3,000!  Thank you so much!

BIKE NIGHT AT THE PINT

Tuesday, May 15, 2007 during national bike to work week stop by the People's Pint after 4pm to help support DIAL/SELF and our Greenfield on Wheels bicycle initiative. Print out a coupon to turn in with your bill here, or look for the coupons at the door that night.

The bicycle initiative accepts donations of bicycles in good working order, and then in matches them with kids that need bikes in the area. The program also makes sure to give kids a bike lock and ensures they obtain a helmet as well.

For more information on the Greenfield on Wheels bike initiative call TeenLine Americorps member Patricia Pabon at 413-774-7054 ext. 102 or email her at ppabon@dialself.org.
