Safe Place
DIAL/SELF TeenLine’s Safe Place program is part of a nationwide effort to keep young people safe. The Safe Place program connects youth to immediate help and safety and can offer supportive services to both young people and their families.
DIAL/SELF TeenLine has set up a number of public locations where youth under the age of 21 can receive help if needed. A young person who feels scared, unsafe, or confused can present at any site displaying the yellow and black, diamond shaped, Safe Place sign and request help.
Staff members at all Safe Place sites are trained to make the young person feel comfortable and welcome while they contact DIAL/SELF. Trained TeenLine staff and volunteers will respond to the Safe Place site and provide help and support to the young person.
