TeenLine
Since 2001 TeenLine has reached out to at-risk youth to prevent homelessness and sexual exploitation of teens. Youth, parents, guidance counselors, and other helping professionals call or stop by for resource information, referrals, counseling, case management, advocacy, and emergency shelter.
TeenLine reaches out to youth in schools, at community meals programs, and on the street. It operates food pantries and drop-in programs in Greenfield and Orange, and provides emergency housing through the NightOwl (a teen warming center). More than 50 homeless teens from the Franklin-Hampshire-North Quabbin area have stayed overnight at the NightOwl over the past year.
TeenLine is funded by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and by private foundations and charitable gifts from residents and businesses. Volunteers are always needed to assist with the drop-in centers and the NightOwl.
The Director of TeenLine is Kelsey Wessels. She may be contacted at 413-774-7054 ext. 102 or kwessels@dialself.org
