Youth Services Roundtable
The Youth Services Roundtable (YSR) is an unincorporated association of Franklin County/North Quabbin youth service agencies and professionals. The YSR has been meeting monthly since 2002 and maintains a 100-member listservyouthserv@communityaction.us that has greatly enhanced communication and cooperation among youth-serving agencies. Other accomplishments to date of the Youth Services Roundtable include:
- Engaged in efforts to bring new money for teen services into the area and to fight state budget cuts impacting youth and teens. (Spring 2002)
- Successfully petitioned the Greenfield Select Board to reopen the Greenfield Teen Center. (November 2002)
- Hosted a Youth Legislative Forum. (2003-2012)
- Hosted the Healthy Teen Booth at the Franklin County Fair. (2002-2006)
- Co-sponsored a Mayoral Candidates Forum. (May 2003)
- Established a youth violence prevention committee (Summer 2004) and sponsored a vigil in response to youth violence. (Fall 2004)
- Launched and produced a monthly teen page for The Recorder. (2004-2005)
- Actively partcipated in the WestMost Coalition. (2004-2008)
- Launched the NightOwl Teen Warming Center. (2005)
- Co-sponsored (with FHREB) the First Annual Youth Services Summit. (2006)
- Co-sponsored (with DIAL/SELF) the 2nd Annual Youth Services Summit. (2007)
